Sarah was born November 13, 1977 to Carroll and Mary (Olson) Suckstorff in Starbuck. She grew up in the Kensington area and was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Kensington. Sarah attended Hoffman-Kensington school through the 8th grade then transferred to Minnewaska School, where she graduated in 1995. She continued her education at Alexandria Technical College for two years, receiving degrees in administrative secretary and office information system specialist. After college, Sarah began working at American Solutions for Business in Glenwood in 1997 and also started her own business in 2010, working as a sales associate for American Solutions for Business.
Sarah married the love of her life, Justin Chris Hoidahl, on September 1, 2001 at First Lutheran Church in Kensington. Together they had two beautiful children, Jayden (7) and Kendall (5) and built their own home southeast of Brandon.
She enjoyed reading, camping and watching campfires with Jayden. She also enjoyed curling Kendall’s hair and making her look more precious than she already was for a dance recital, Sunday church services or any other special occasion. She was athletic and liked running 5Ks with her nephews, biking and skating. Sarah had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden every summer. She also took care of her house by keeping her home spotless and organized. She loved to get a good deal shopping, especially on “Black Friday” – starting early with a plan to get all the best deals she could with her sisters and Mom. Sarah and her family are members of Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon. She was very involved with church activities and committees.
Growing up, Sarah was a carefree little girl who loved to play and keep active in sports and school. She continued to grow her enthusiasm for life as she became a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a professional businesswoman. She was very proud of her family and her accomplishments at work. She was a woman who had the “We Can Do It” drive about her and was an inspiration to many people. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Justin Hoidahl of Garfield; children, Jayden and Kendall of Garfield; parents, Carroll and Mary Suckstorff of Kensington; siblings, Tanya (Chad) Friese of Granite Falls, Ryan (Brittany) Suckstorff of Forada, Kristi (Jason) Wildman of Glenwood, Meike Wendlandt of Germany; parents-in-law, Greg and Pam Hoidahl of Garfield; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Becky (Reece) Spanier of Sartell; nieces and nephews, Yolanda (Dustin) Voth and their child, Emeril; Austin, Ayden and Evan Friese; Kaylee and Aubri Suckstorff; Miles Wildman; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; aunt, Marlys (Odegaard) Olson; and niece, Kirsta Suckstorff.
Funeral services for Sarah were held Friday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon with the Rev. Dennis Preston officiating. Tom and Annette Helder provided music. Interment was at Holmes City Lake Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ryan Suckstorff, Chad Friese, Jason Wildman, Reece Spanier, Jason Klimek and Bill Otto.
