Dennis was born June 20, 1970 in Alexandria to Richard and LaVonne (Heid) Tweet. He grew up in Carlos, was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. He attended Alexandria Tech, where he received a welding degree. On August 11, 1995, Dennis married Christi Englund while on a cruise ship to the Bahamas. They made their home in West Fargo and he worked as a welder at Case IH in Fargo. For the last eight years, he battled cancer and for health reasons, retired from Case IH in February 2010. For the last three weeks, he was under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Dennis loved to play pool, hunt, fish, golf and participate in fantasy football, which was his passion. Most importantly, Dennis was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Christi; son, Dalton; father, Richard (Gail) of Carlos; sisters, Denise (Paul) Barsness, Osakis, and Darla (Kerry) Barker, Carlos; grandparents, Roy and Wilma Heid, Nelson; mother- and father-in-law, Jim and Connie Englund, Karlstad; brother-in-law, Jamie (Kim) Englund, Moorhead; nieces and nephews, Matt (Sarah), Adam (special friend, Kristi), Cody, Ty, Keyanna and Kylie; many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
