Lois was born March 28, 1930 in Alexandria to Alfonso Leon and Amelia Margeret (Hammer) Frisk. She grew up in Calvary Lutheran Church. Lois graduated from Alexandria Central High School in 1948 and then the Minneapolis Beauty College.
Lois was first married to Cecil Arrowsmith. He preceded her in death in January 1969. She married J. Edmund Peterson in 1970 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She was owner/operator of Lois, Your Hairdresser and then later opened Arcade Beauty Salon, both on Broadway in Alexandria.
Lois moved to Longmont in 1995 from Alexandria. She attended Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont. She was active in the Interfaith Quilters, Easy Breathers and volunteered with the Longmont Theater Company. Lois enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands; her stepson, Steven Peterson and her sister, Arleen Johnson.
Lois is survived by her stepdaughter, Debbie Van Omen of Longmont; two brothers, Kevin Frisk (Debbie) and Tim Frisk (Sue), both of Alexandria; two sisters, Ardis Piper (Keith) and Jean Oberg (Darrell), both of Alexandria; her step-grandchildren, Devon Peterson (Alicia) of Commerce City, CO, Taya Kevwitch (Rob) of Richmond, TX and Matthew Van Omen; her step-great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Gracen Kevwitch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service information will be announced at a later date.
Cremation was at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
