Marion was born January 16, 1936 in Parkers Prairie to Leonard Sr. and Angelina “Angie” (Hosna) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School.

Marion was united in marriage to Robert G. Swanson on September 18, 1954 at her parents’ home in Parkers Prairie. The couple made their home in Alexandria. To this union, the couple was blessed with two daughters, Vicki and Laurie.

Marion worked as a homemaker when the girls were little. She then worked at Ludkes for a time, and then the Douglas County Veterans Service Office. She later worked at the courthouse in Alexandria and Benson, where she lived for a time. Marion was united in marriage to Lloyd Lindsey on August 2, 1990 at First Baptist Church in Alexandria. The couple made their home in Alexandria. Marion worked at the Law Enforcement Center until her retirement in 1998.

Marion enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, cooking, baking, flower gardening, bird watching, playing the piano, singing in the choir and watching sports, especially the Vikings and the Twins. She also enjoyed entertaining family and guests, but most importantly she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd “Buster” Lindsey of Alexandria; daughters, Vicki (Joe) Schnitzler of Benson and Laurie (Joe) Morris of Madison, VA; step-sons, Jerry (Terrie) Lindsey of Eden Prairie and Kenny Lindsey of Alexandria; grandchildren, Sara (Mike) McGee, Katie (Shawn Bachman) Schnitzler, Chap Morris, and Amy (Mark) Arrington; two great-grandchildren, John and Taylor; step-grandchildren, Ryan Lindsey, Shawn Lindsey, Kelli Lindsey, Josh Lindsey, Julianna Lindsey, Randi (Jaymie Olson) Lindsey and Sara (Ryan Augeson) Lindsey; step-great-grandchildren, Kaeley Lindsey, Cody, Maddie and Kyler Augeson; mother, Angie Carlson of Parkers Prairie; brother, Thomas Larson of Rouzerville, PA; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held August 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by organist Becky Worley. Interment was at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Ryan Lindsey, Shawn Lindsey, Chap Morris, Joe Morris, Joe Schnitzler and Mike McGee. Honorary casket bearers were Kenny Lindsey, Jerry Lindsey, Tom Lindsey and Josh Lindsey.

Laurie: I am so sorry to hear of the death of your mother.....my heart goes out to you. Had I known, I would have been in Alex. for her funeral...this is what happens when one doesn't live there any longer....I have lost your e-mail and would love to connect....jill.aspelin@state.mn.us
