Clifford was born June 28,1921 in Cottonwood County, the son of Henry and Ora (Wilson) Nordsiden. He grew up on the family farm in Ann Township near Walnut Grove. Cliff was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. He attended country school in District 43. Following his schooling Cliff worked on the family farm.

During World War II, Cliff served his country in Bay City, Michigan where he worked as a welder and helped build ships. Following the war he returned home to the family farm.

On December 28, 1963, Cliff was united in marriage to Ebba Larson. The couple made their home on the family farm until the mid 1970s when Cliff retired from farming. They later sold the farm and moved to Springfield where Cliff worked as a welder. They built a retirement home in Starbuck and spent winters in Arizona. They eventually moved to Lake Miltona and later moved into the Senator building in Alexandria.

Clifford was a member of the Golden K’s Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Gideons. Cliff enjoyed spending time fishing and gardening vegetables and flowers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ebba Nordsiden; and two brothers-in-law, Floyd Lewis and Kerman Larson.

Cliff is survived by one sister, Eunice Anderson and husband, Arvid, of Lamberton; one brother, Floyd Nordsiden and wife, Louella, of Westbrook; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Larson of Alexandria, Violet Velander of Alexandria, Adeline Lewis of Bellevue, WA and Avis Larson of Parkers Prairie; one brother-in-law, Leonard Velander of Alexandria; 20 nieces and nephews, eight from the Norsidens and 12 from the Larsons; and many grand and great-grand-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Clifford was held Monday, April 19 at Knute Nelson Chapel in Alexandria with the Rev. Neal Olson officiating. Diane Alveshere provided music. Interment was at St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery in Walnut Grove, with all of Clifford’s nieces and nephews serving as honorary pallbearers.
