Wendelyn McClain, 61

Wendelyn “Wendy” McClain, 61, died at her home at Windmill Ponds in Alexandria on March 13, 2010.

Wendy was born in Alexandria on February 7, 1949 to Wendell and Margaret (Wilken) Augustson. She graduated from Evansville High School in 1968. She loved her work as a caregiver, including taking care of Irene Ludwig and also enjoyed embroidery as a hobby.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Arneson of Alexandria; son, Brian Arneson of Lakeville; brother, Lynn Augustson of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Sylvia (Kenneth) Bartells of Elbow Lake, Bonnie (Frank) Murtinger of Eagan, Joyce Gillespie of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan and Daniel Arneson.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Jolene Bartells.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 16 at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al Ludwig officiating. Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art were played for music.
