David Olson, 54
A celebration of life for David Arthur Olson, age 54, of Lowry, was held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The Rev. Todd Klemme officiated.
A celebration of life for David Arthur Olson, age 54, of Lowry, was held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck. The Rev. Todd Klemme officiated.
Private burial of the remains will be held at a later date.
David A. Olson, son of Albin and Delores (Larson) Olson, was born July 27, 1955 in Starbuck. He grew up and received his education in Starbuck. He was baptized and confirmed at Minnewaska Lutheran Church. David lived in Starbuck for many years and then moved to Lowry so he could live in the country. David worked as a machinist his entire adult life. A few of his places of long-term employment included Glenwood Manufacturing, Glenwood, and Lakeland Manufacturing of Alexandria.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. His love for children brought him true happiness and laughter. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also liked to take road trips with his brothers on the weekends. They would drive to gun and sporting shows, look for wildlife, or find various things to do along the way. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his mother, his family and his easy, joyful laughter.
David unexpectedly passed away on October 21, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
He is survived by a daughter, Shayanne; two brothers, Allen and his wife, Mary Olson of Alexandria, Danny and his wife, Lori Olson of Starbuck; two sisters, Jean and her husband, Bruce Mattson of Excelsior, Mary Jane and her husband, Roger Ward of Glenwood; nephews and nieces, Mike, Lisa, Tina, Scott, Robert “Bob,” Katy, Elizabeth “Liz,” Tammy, Jason, Ruth and Joseph “Joe.” He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Delores Olson; and his sister, Shirley Robideaux.
