Irene Clare Endreson, 84, Erdahl, died October 24, 2009 at Good Samaritan Society of Hoffman.

Irene was born in Charbonneau, North Dakota, on August 16, 1925 to Edward and Thora (Hanson) Olson. She was baptized at Bethel Lutheran Church in Cartwright, ND, and confirmed at Erdahl Lutheran Church in Erdahl. Irene attended School District 44 and Evansville High School. She worked for a brief time in Minneapolis before moving to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she worked as a telephone switchboard operator. She was later transferred to Fargo, ND.

On October 17, 1948 Irene married James Endreson at Erdahl Lutheran Church. They lived and farmed in Erdahl Township and raised their seven children. They were members of Erdahl Lutheran Church where Irene was active in the Ladies Aid, as well as working as custodian and groundskeeper. When the church closed, they transferred to Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby.

Irene loved the outdoors, gardening, quilting, crafts and scrapbooking. She was only recently admitted to the Good Samaritan Society in Hoffman.

Irene is survived by her husband, James of Erdahl; sons, Steven (Kathy) of Dalton, Harlan (Valerie) of Wasilla, Alaska, Michael (Sonja) of Montrose, Colorado, Mark of Elbow Lake and Darwin (Dawn) of Coon Rapids; daughters, Sonja Velez of Farmington and Madeline (Mike) Anderson of Barrett; grandchildren, Tony (Anne) Endreson, Dan (Stacie) Endreson, Matt (Megan) Endreson, Jason (Kimberley) Endreson, Emily (Paul) McGee, Kristel (Shane) Olson, Marcia Gilcrest, David (Chris) Dittrich, Christopher (Kyna) Endreson. Benjamin (Melissa) Endreson, Nicolas Endreson, Caleb Endreson, Taylor and Megan Endreson, Ryan and Cody Endreson; nine great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon “Bing” (Bernice) Olson of Ashby; sisters, Marian Reine of Evansville, Pearl Sande of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Gloria Rezac of Breckenridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Thora Olson; two infant brothers; and three sisters, Devona Olson, Edith Cunningham and Lillian Lindquist.

Services were held October 27 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby with the Rev. Carol Olson officiating. Burial was at Erdahl Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Luther Crest Bible Camp, 8231 CR 11 NE, Alexandria, MN 56308.
