Eugene Enoch Carlson, 52, Alexandria, died October 22, 2009 at his apartment in Viking Towers.

Eugene was born June 4, 1957 in Denver, Colorado to Dewitt and Eleanor (Richardson) Carlson. He grew up in Denver and moved to Hibbing in 1975. He then moved to Alexandria about 20 years ago to be closer to family.

Eugene loved the water. He liked to swim, ride in a boat and go fishing. He also liked to watch “old westerns” and sports on television. He was a good-hearted man who was always loving and caring to his family and friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Carlson of Alexandria; brothers, Eric (Linda) Carlson of Alexandria, Craig (Juanitta) Carlson of Tucson, AZ; sister, Luann (Dennis) Thornberg of Lakeville; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Joshua, Heidi, Cheynne, Brianna and Amanda; aunts and uncles, Harold (Helen) Mattox, Curtis Carlson, Richard Carlson and Don (Norma) Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewitt Carlson; and brother, Bradley Carlson.

A memorial service was held Monday, October 26 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with Dennis Thornberg as the celebrant. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Carlson, Craig Carlson, Dennis Thornberg, Joshua Thornberg and Jimmy Wagner.
