Victor Junior Edenloff, 85, Parkers Prairie, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria.

Victor was born April 1, 1924 in Osakis to Alvin and Mayme (Thornquist) Edenloff. He graduated in 1942 from Osakis High School and then went to serve his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He returned after his honorable discharge and continued his schooling at Moorhead State Teachers College and St. Cloud State College, where he received his business degree.

Victor married Lynn Johnson on January 5, 1957 at Osakis Lutheran Church. Victor first worked in banks in Carlos and Alexandria before moving to work at First National Bank in Parkers Prairie for more than 20 years, retiring in 1983.

Victor belonged to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie and served on both the church and cemetery boards. He was a member of the American Legion and the Parkers Prairie Lions. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was custodian for the Parkers Prairie Senior Center.

During his youth, Vic was a standout baseball player who pitched for Carlos and other area teams in the OTW League and then served as manager of the Alexandria Clippers. He was a lifelong sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Twins and the Vikings. In addition to being an excellent league bowler for more than 30 years, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Victor is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynn of Parkers Prairie; children, Lee (Loray) of Alexandria, Al (Celeste) of Alexandria, Vicki Edenloff of Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Katelyn and Carly Edenloff, Brandon Beliveau; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Everett and LeRoy Edenloff; and a sister, Marcy Hall.

Funeral services are Friday, October 23 at 2 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with the Rev. Jonathan Sorum officiating. Tara Bitzan is soloist and Dean Swanson is the organist. Interment is at Parkers Prairie Cemetery with pallbearers Rob, Brent, Micah and Chris Stoeckel, and Dan and Scott Edenloff. Honorary pallbearers are Merle and Duane Hall, Jason and Rachel Johnson, Wendy Reed and Blaine Stoeckel.

Arrangements are with Lind Family Funeral Service of Parkers Prairie.

My first job after H S was at the First State Bank of Carlos; Vic was Asst Cashier; I worked with him from Sept 51 till Mar 53. He was always a great fellow and I learned much from him. Condolences to his family. Roman Barnack
