Darlene Clementson, 76

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Darlene Joyce Clementson died October 11, 2009 in St. Paul at the age of 76.

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Darlene Joyce Clementson died October 11, 2009 in St. Paul at the age of 76.

She was born to Fred and Ethel (Roehnisch) Caza in Rush City on August 20, 1933. She grew up there on a farm with her two sisters and a brother.

She married the love of her life, Arthur Clementson, on June 20, 1953 in Lindstrom. After living in Kelliher and Cyrus, they raised their four children in Cottonwood. Darlene was a loving, stay-at-home mother, and later worked at Schwan’s in Marshall. She and Arthur retired to Holmes City in 1988 to their lake home that Arthur built.

She was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City and enjoyed spending time with her friends quilting, singing, serving and just having a cup of coffee with others. She was a superb quilter and has sewn a quilt for each one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She loved to cook and made the best pies, cinnamon rolls and soups. Many a friendship was made and nurtured through Darlene’s hospitality and terrific food.

Most of all, she loved her family. She was a giving person of her time and love.

Darlene is survived by her son, John (Virginia) Clementson of LeSueur; daughters, Renee Clementson of Marshall, Kari (Richard) Hegge of Hastings, and Karen (Curt) Crouse of Rosemount; grandchildren, Tyler (Jenny) Clementson of Sioux Falls, SD, Erin (Ben) Hoffman of St. Cloud, Theanna Hegge of Hastings, Sam Hegge of Hastings, Carlene, Olivia and Mallory Crouse of Rosemount; great-grandson, Harper Hoffman of St. Cloud; and sister, Beverly Lebeck of Phillips, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Lucille Baker; and a brother, Murl Caza.

A memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City on Sunday, October 18 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
