Ruth Elizabeth Morisette, 83, Osakis, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

Ruth was born November 4, 1925 to J. William and Amy (Frazier) Jahn in Montevideo. She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School. She taught country school for two years. She was united in marriage to Bernard J. Morisette on June 17, 1946. Following their marriage they farmed near Ghent until 1960, when they moved to Osakis to farm.

Her husband died in January of 1988. Following his death, she continued living on the farm with her sons, Richard and Joe, until moving to Community Memorial Home in Osakis just six weeks ago.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Christian Mothers. She volunteered at St. Agnes School in Osakis as a teacher’s aide for many years. She loved reading, flower gardening and her dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by five daughters, Ann (Jerry) Waldvogel of Nelson, Irene (Tom) Triemert of Roseville, Kathy (George) Kuhne of Miltona, Clara (Dan Green) Morisette of St. Cloud and Bernedette (Jeff) Ludwig of Inver Grove Heights; four sons, Jim (Sue) Morisette, Joe Morisette and Rick Morisette, all of Nelson and Albert (Marilyne) Morisette of Osakis; special nephew, Bruce (Bev) Rhode of Brownton; two brothers, Charles (Carol) Jahn of Lindstrom and Thomas (Marlene) Jahn of Corona, California; 15 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Lawrence Jahn and Bernard Jahn; and a sister, Mary Rhode.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Music was provided by organist, Ginger Hetland and vocalists, Dana Hetland and Hayley Thull. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Osakis.

Pallbearers were Jason Waldvogel, Bill Morisette, Tom Morisette, Matt Morisette, Pat Triemert, Scott Morisette, Mike Morisette, Tony Ludwig and Brad Ludwig. Honorary pallbearers were Tammy Thull, Gini Deadrick, Dani Halvorson, Jesi Gomez, Kayla Lang and Lisa Morisette.
