Vernon C. Swanson, 94, formerly of Eden Prairie, died March 4, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alma; great-granddaughter, Margaret; and brothers, Kenneth and Bill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Wilma; daughters, Phyllis (Glenn) Peterson, Vernice (Bruce) McClellan, and Kathy Swanson; six grandchildren, Sheila (Mark), David (Jeannine), Kristin (Clayton), Richard (Polly), Debbie (Richard), Stephen (Lanae); 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Bill) Sheets; sister-in-law, Louise Swanson; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Vern was a long-time barber at 50th and France in the Cities.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th Street and Highway 100; (952) 920-3996.
