Randy was born April 19, 1957 in Granite Falls to William and Hilda (Brouwer) Santjer. He graduated from Renville High School.
Randy was united in marriage to Judy Aalderks on September 24, 1976 at the Presbyterian Church in Renville. To this union the couple was blessed with two boys, Ryan and Travis. The couple raised their family in Alexandria, where Randy worked at Donnelly Custom Manufacturing for the past 20 years.
Randy enjoyed the outdoors, pheasant hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time at the lake. The family took many trips and made a point to stop and see family. He loved watching sports and traveled all across the country watching his boys play baseball and hockey. Family was most important to Randy, especially the time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Santjer of Alexandria; sons, Ryan (Tara) Santjer of Columbia, MO and Travis (Dianna) Santjer of Evansville; grandchildren, Qadry Kehoe, Jaden Santjer, Ava Santjer, Breckan Santjer, Ryder Santjer; brothers, Kenneth (Julie) of The Colony, TX, Stanley (Darlene) of Granite Falls, Elroy (Sandy) of Rapid City, SD, Gary of Renville, David (Ruth) of Hayfield, Merlin (Mary) of Dubuque, IA; and sister, Carol (Tim) Beekman of Sacred Heart.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hilda; infant brother; and sister-in-law, Joan Santjer.
A memorial service was held Friday, March 22 at United Methodist Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Jeff Hansen officiating. Music was provided by pianist, Judy Groen and soloist, Paul Knapper. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria on a future date. Honorary urn bearers were Qadry Kehoe, Jaden Santjer, Ava Santjer, Breckan Santjer, Ryder Santjer, Kevin Weedman, and Marilyn Weedman.
