Dale John Beneke, 59, Evansville, departed this world to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, after a courageous battle with cancer.
On March 18, 1954, Dale was welcomed into this world by his parents, John and Beatrice “Pat” Beneke in Minneapolis. At a young age, Dale was baptized and later confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, and as he grew in wisdom so did his commitment to the Lord.
After living in the Twin Cities for a number of years, he took up residency in West Central Minnesota, where he developed a special relationship with his co-workers from Gateway. After Dale grew to acknowledge this great group of men as his extended family, he soon met and married his loving, devoted wife, Marcia.
In his free time, Dale was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. When not in nature by himself, Dale spent many hours exploring the great state of Minnesota together with Marcia. Over the years he developed many interesting collections with a few being Pez dispensers, baseball caps, and military memorabilia. He will be remembered most for honoring his country by serving with the Marine Corps and Reserve, his never ending sense of humor, and his everlasting devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; father, John Beneke of Brooklyn Center; mother-in-law, Twyla Johnson of Evansville; sons, Bradley (Jennifer) of Maple Lake, Kevin (Christine) of Anoka, John of Alexandria; stepchildren, Darrin (Renae) Quinn of Evansville, Taylor Quinn of Ramsey, Amber (Levi) Dargis of Ramsey, Blake (Jennie) Quinn of Evansville; grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob and Brianna Beneke, Carter Beneke, Courtney, Skyler and Madison Quinn, Ruby, Simon and baby Quinn; his sister-in-law, Barb Beneke; brother, Karl (Dawn) Beneke; sister, Deb (Steve) Logan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Peterson; brother, Michael Beneke; and his father-in-law, Carlton Johnson.
There will never be a time when your devotion to your country, family and friends will ever be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts, Love you much!
