Judy Erickson passed away February 2, 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and son at her side.

Judy Erickson passed away February 2, 2013 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and son at her side. She had suffered from several strokes over the past four years. She was 73 years old.

Judy was born in Springfield, Minnesota to John and Dorothy Murphy and raised in Marshall. She graduated from the Holy Redeemer Catholic High School in 1957 and married William Erickson in 1958.

After graduating from forestry school, Bill worked for the U.S. Forest Service in five states, retiring in 1987. Judy was a willing partner and moved nine times during his career. She worked for 10 years as a student advocate at the vocational school in Cadillac, Michigan. She loved the interaction with the students.

After retiring, they moved to be with Judy's parents at Lake Amelia and eventually bought a home in Alexandria. They wintered in Sun City, Arizona and eventually became full-time residents.

Judy was active in the ladies’ golf league, fitness programs and leisure swimming. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2011 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Mark; daughter, Melissa; two grandchildren, Cameron and Riley; sister, Joy, of Minneapolis; brothers, Gary, of Laverne and Dennis, of Glenwood. She truly loved her family and friends.

Private services have been held and her remains will be scattered at the family burial plot in Russell, Minnesota.
