Arlene N. Groves, 91, Maple Grove, formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away January 15, 2013 at her residence in Maple Grove.
Arlene N. Groves, 91, Maple Grove, formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away January 15, 2013 at her residence in Maple Grove.
Arlene was born November 24, 1921 in Alexandria to parents Edward and Emma Sorlie Lommen. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1939 and attended St. Cloud Secretarial School. She married Hollis Groves on March 17, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.
She is survived by children, Rik (Cleo) Groves of Zimmerman, Susan (Dan) Krekelberg of Brooklyn Center, Kevin (Colleen) Groves of Coon Rapids; grandchildren, Heather, Emily, Sara, Evan, Brandi, Trish, Tim, Chris, Kelly, Zach and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Noah, Madeline, Hayden, Jack, Finn, Addison and Grace; sister, Beverly (Jerry) Fischer of Roseville; brothers, Dale (Audrey) Lommen of Starbuck, and Paul (Lynne) Lommen of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis; daughter, Barbara; brother, Adrian; and parents, Edward and Emma Lommen.
Funeral services were held January 18 at Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center. Interment followed at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal.
Memorials are preferred to the family to be distributed per Arleneās wishes.
