Long-time Golden Valley resident, Annette Olson, died in Alexandria on Friday, January 18, 2013, at age 93 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s-type dementia.
Long-time Golden Valley resident, Annette Olson, died in Alexandria on Friday, January 18, 2013, at age 93 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s-type dementia.
Annette was born in Ada on March 15, 1919. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1937, attended Mankato State College, and taught grade school for several years before marrying Fred in 1943.
She and Fred spent many happy years at their home in Golden Valley, making frequent visits to beautiful Crane Lake, Little Pine Lake, and Alexandria in northern Minnesota.
Kind and loving, Annette’s life revolved around God and family. She always had time for family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, Helen and Carl Carlson; brother, Harvey; and infant son.
Annette is survived by her daughters, Karen Hardine (Richard), and Barbara Bullis (Marc); grandchildren, Justin and Kara; brother, Jim; and nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the Knute Nelson “Pines” staff for their excellent care these past five years.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at Saint Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, 17205 County Road 6, Plymouth MN 55447. Lunch will follow the service.
Visitation is Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis.
