Jefferson High School (JHS) students in John Esbjornsson’s environmental science classes walked along Lake L’Homme Dieu Beach checking for zebra mussels. The students, who worked with the Department of Natural Resources on the project, found hundreds, if not thousands of the tiny exotic species. The flag, according to JHS junior Lucas Anderson, “Represents us in the class and what we can discover.”
