Titan

Titan is one of the sanctuary’s success stories. Rescued from a Minnesota breeding operation 10 miles from Sandstone where he was starving, he has gained nearly 300 pounds. His brother Tango was euthanized when he mauled and killed the breeder in 2006. Both Titan and his companion Lilly, rescued from a former Park Rapids doctor’s exotic animal farm in Otter Tail County, have lingering health problems associated with their poor diets and neglect. Last week the pair, which have lived in adjoining cages since their rescue, were put together for the first time. (Sarah Smith/Enterprise)
