The Evansville Lions Club conducted its annual International Peace Poster Contest at the Evansville Elementary School. This year’s theme was “Children in Peace.” Evansville Lions Club President, Ron Buse, awarded certificates and cash prizes to the winners in Brian Perleberg’s 6th grade class. Saffron Fletcher, daughter of Ginger and Randy Fletcher, received first place and was awarded $25. Second place and $15 were awarded to Micah Martin, son of Sheila Martin and third place and $10 were awarded to Carrie Oden, daughter of Renae and Darwin Oden. Fletcher’s poster will be mailed to the district contest held in late January. The winning poster from that competition advances to the state competition, with the state winner advancing to the International Peace Poster competition.
