Photos by Ryan Nilsson, Red Wing Republican Eagle Alexandria’s Jamie Piepenburg (4) was edged out at the finish line by Christina Monson of Albert Lea (3) in the 1,600-meter run as she tried to defend her State Class AA title in that event. Piepenburg did win the 3,200-meter event to bring home gold as the Alexandria girls earned runner-up honors at Hamline University in St. Paul over the weekend.
