Memorial Service - William Osterberg, 69

So sorry to hear the Bill passed away. I did not know him personally. However, I know he was a lovely person and a good man. One of my favorite photos is one of my sister, Lona (Hess) Ryding and Bill. It is a photo of when he took her to the high school prom. I don't know the year the photo was taken, 1961 or 1962 I was either two or three years old. My mom always spoke very highly of him. My heart goes out to his family at this difficult time. Bill and I were only a couple of months apart in age and grew up together through our school years, doing all of the cousin things; playing sports, dating the local girls, attending all of our classmates parties. Our families always got together at Thanksgiving and Christmas; we would have great dinners and then the two of us and our fathers would head to the bowling alley to compete for bragging rights. later in the evening our two families would engage in a friendly game of tripoly. Later years our paths would cross again; during the early years of the Viet Nam conflict we would meet unexpectedly in Danang; later during our careers we spent times together in Denver, Co. The last quality time we spent together was our 60th year reunion. In this day and age Bill's life ended much to soon, and I will miss him, but I have to believe he is in a good place and being looked after by family who have preceeded in this journey.
