According to an article in the Fergus Falls Journal, the Fergus Falls municipal liquor stores sold $4.96 million in alcohol in 2008, trailing only Alexandria, who’s $4.98 million in liquor sales was tops in outstate Minnesota.

Interesting numbers. Would the city(s) generating revenue on the other end of the bottle through fines and jail be considered double dipping or irony or both? Question-- Is there a correlation to the least profitable stores and number of violations?

Here's one area where the government should get out of business. Nothing against alcohol and I'm pretty sure the private sector can satisfy people's thirst in this area.

People make choices. If you choose to buy liquor don't expect the rest of us to pay for your healthcare, child care, rent and the rest of the entitlements.
