I think that Riley Bros. should be able to still bid state and federal projects even though they had some issues with the IRS. It is a VERY common practice with many seasonal business that employees are paid cash or allowed to bank their hours over the winter months. Riley Bros. will pay their fines and serve their time. I think that is punishment enough.

I'm disheartened that they have the support of local politicians even though they plead guilty to, among other things, paying cash to employees who were also drawing unemployment.

Do people honestly believe that Riley Bros. should be allowed to work and earn money on projects that are completely or partially funded by the goverment when they were essentially stealing from the government in the first place?! It's a very unfortunate situation for all of Riley's employees, but these projects should only be available to those companies who can play by the rules.
