I would have expected this to be frontpage HuffPo...you know the stuff legends are made of. I did a general search on the site...nadda about this one. I am not impressed with ANY politician, so this is nothing new. If they're gums are flappin', they're promising something that they can't deliver. Takes me back to JR High student council...oh the smears. LOL! Of course, to be the Secretary/Treasurer, I just had to be honest to get the vote. The races for Pres and VP of the class were cut-throat, it was ugly and it was 8th grade.

I guess I should have clarified my question. I was wondering about Steele, as I haven't heard or read anything yet. Neither have I ever thought he was doing a good job.

I recall when some facts about GWB showed up. Word for word from John Kerry's campaign web site. Later shown to be bogus, but it was the proof that "another poster" needed to support her point. Recently, Obama's own writings have become factual data for the rant. Nobody has yet seen any college records or pasport data, but if it wasn't in his book don't worry about it. Wonder if he enrolled as a foreign student and got a scholarship for being a non citizen. Lots of unknowns. His library will all blanked out and a journal about puppy training will be it.

Oh Mike, I know...I've followed strings further than just the first loop or second loop. I learned back before the 2008 election, anything worth keeping, I save it, and not just the link. Websites get a screenshots and the unaltered images get saved in at least two areas. I use an app. to convert stuff to pdf format, it will even make pdfs out of webpages...quite handy for getting everything in context. Documents formerly released and later retracted, well, if I don't get them the first time around, I know where to go looking for them. We've seen here how history is repeated thru the posts of a "new" moniker. It is expected that this will repeat itself...again and again.

BTW, you're right about the flamewars. Every site I looked at that has a comments section was absolutely nuts on this topic. And I could only find one, (as opposed to twenty or so) that had more comments attempting to defend this presentation.

Yeah, it smells pretty bad, Kay. Actually, it broke yesterday, late. And today, it took over four hours for ANY kind of rebuttal. Mostly calls for Steele to resign, and if there's any truth to it, he had no clue. Whatever, the pages that I'd consider to be leaning to the right have been really going after this, and not at all like I expected. Even the Kansas City Star was outraged by this one. So far, the unlamest thing I've seen is that it was some kind of "insider joke" kind of presentation. Still, insulting your donors is pretty stupid. Especially if you are dumb enough to let the other side get hold of the 'smoking gun'!

Kay, keep in mind that Annenberg (obama's old employer) founded factcheck.com and wikipedia is open editing. So, there are other ways to influence opinion. Also, polls are manipulated by the right questions. Obama's whitehouse website has had some pages disappear also. The bloggers had taken screen shots and would point out the new and improved pages. So, at some point in time, someone who is never wrong and deals in facts could have taken both sides of a position and been right.
