SNIP-SNIP...cut them up FIRST. It only hurts for a little while. It works well for all those "solicitations" mailed by every CC company out there too. I like bac's idea, mail back the empty envelope..nice touch. I'll have to remember to do that with the latest pile.

Even better. Everyone stop using credit cards and pay cash. Too much money is made by too few people skimming a couple of percent everytime you use the card. The skimmers produced nothing but cost all of us on every transaction.

No one should ever use a credit card for any reason other than the convenience of charging. If you cannot pay the full amount when the bill is due, do not use it. If you feel obligated to pay for this advice, please make an anonymous gift to a local charity of your choice or help a neighbor in neeed.

Take your rewards card with the 3-5% discount for purchases at drug or grocery stores and buy gift cards for other places. Then pay them off in total. Why do we need whole agencies to tell people not to spend money they don't have? Or involve government to bail them out after the fact?

The formula is this: pay them off, cut them up, and when you get a "pre-approved" form in the mail, send back the EMPTY envelope. They don't have to pay the postage unless you send back the envelope. Do this a couple times, and they'll leave you alone. Better still, put someone else's junkmail in the envelope! Pay cash or by a GOOD check!
