Why do you think there is such an outrage with congress. Remember they created this mess as well as all the others.

Ok, heavy hitters...Tops in political donations 89-09, ATT at $44 MILLION, second in line, American Fedn of State, County & Municipal Employees at almost $42 MILLION, and third, National Assn of Realtors with $35 MILLION political donations. - http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php?order=A -- holy cow, that is serious money flung at our representatives in government to get them elected to their position. It makes me ILL to think that this is how it gets done, no wonder they don't listen to the public polls anymore, they don't need to.

http://www.opensecrets.org/industries/mems.php Quite a handy site to use to follow the money trail. TOP Industry to donate to campaigns...Lawyersl/Law firms. With all that money being flung at candidates from all directions to BUY their seats and influence in office thru the years, it would appear that this country wouldn't have as many people struggling if they just made the politician or party fork over HALF of all contributions to the GOVERNMENT for redistribution thru social programs. Political donations should be considered and taxed as regular income for the donor, and the recipient should be taxed at least 50% as it's not EARNED income from a real job. Of course THAT won't ever happen will it? But a worker can have their bonus taxed at a much higher rate before he/she get's it. LOOK what America put in power...it's shame we let it get this far.

Have you ever noticed how some special interests give money to both candidates? I think that should be outlawed - make them take a stand on one side or another instead of corrupting all sides!

Why is it when democrats i.e. the liberal media, George Soros, the unions, the film industry, the teacher's unions, the lawyers, drug industry, etc buy the candidate of their choice (a democrat) its ok but now that businesses have the power to support or not support a candidate its wrong. Folks you can't have it both ways! What the voters need to do is be more discerning, reject special interests and start voting for the interest of their country!

Large corporations and business own our government. I'm not sure how this is different. It doesn't matter which party you support, each party is in bed with these interest. Maybe not at the local level or state level. Definately at a national level. Being a democrat I'm suprised by your opinions, right or wrong. That said neither democrats nor republicans are to be trusted. Politics is pure entertainment in todays world. Realistic believes mean nothing ..
