Was out at Wallyworld yesterday afternoon. They've got 28 lanes there, and I counted 13 that were lit.

Randy O - The banking industry is doing so well these days. They certainly don't need competition from Wal-Mart to mess things up! Consumers love being fleeced by unethical loan practices, outrageous credit card rates and never ending bank fees. The U.S banking industry is afraid of Wal-Mart getting into the game because they might be forced to clean up their act. http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Banking/Betterbanking/P109171.asp

Tracy F, I know all business owners in Hoffman and Kensington, including the leadership of both local banks, and across the board they all loathe Wal-Mart. Especially after their unprecedented power-grab attempt in 2007 to con the government into giving them a bank charter. Thank God they failed at it.

I saw that it was on ... the one with George C. Scott as Scrooge. That is the best production by far IMO. I did, however, see it at the Guthrie the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. They've shortened it by about 30 minutes and made it less 'scary'. They did a good job, as always. The dialogue written by Dickens by Scrooge is so witty and, every time I hear it, reminds me of some people's attitudes still today. I should post some of my favorite quotes but I have a feeling it would make some posters a bit angry, thinking I am referring to them. :-)

"Have a happy Thanksgiving". Now is that one incorrect? After all, just who are we giving thanks to? Every place I was in before Thanksgiving I heard that, and now, I find it a little confusing. It's all right to say, "Happy Thanksgiving", but it's incorrect to say "Merry Christmas"?

For those who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! For those who practice Judaism, Happy Hanukkah! For those who celebrate Kwanza, Happy Kwanza! Merry Yule! Happy Festivus! Happy Bodhi Day!
