Dylan, getting 10,000 people from the working class mid week to show their displeasure is quite an accomplishment. It is not like these were liberals sitting in the soup line that were bussed in for a democratic photo op.

Jerry H - You are absolutely correct. The clueless are those who believe bigger government is the answer to their problems. In reality it is the cause of their problems. The growing, conservative grassroots movement is the real deal; formed by real people, and the continued attempts at discrediting it won’t change that fact either. People are sick of the spending and sick of the corruption. They see no difference in either political party. Conservatives grew increasingly disenchanted during the Bush administration, and considered pseudo republican, John McCain’s presidential nomination to be the final straw. FYI, dylan and other liberal commentators - This grassroots, conservative movement wasn’t created by Fox News and conservative radio; and it certainly doesn’t need them for their “coaching” and marching orders. Fox News and conservative radio are merely jumping on the bandwagon.

Larry, the problem is we they say anything to get elected, but then do just the opposite. Just like the congressman that got elected in NY-23. He broke 4 promises the first day by voting for the healthcare bill. The constitution is supposed to protect the people rights. Larry, taking your argument to another level, if the congress votes not allow freedom of speech, is that ok? And don't say the constitution gives us that because you just said the constitution does not matter becaue we voted in people that created the law in conflict with it because that is what we wanted. Our country is founded on the rule of law and the highest law is the constitution. If people want it changed, they need to go through the ammendment process, not pass laws that bypass it until someone challenges it. Larry, what is wrong with the states being responsible for themselves? Do you think virtually unlimited federal spending is a good thing?

Well, if they're making unconstitutional promises to get reelected, and the people reelect them, maybe it's what the people want. Of course, you can claim people want something for nothing, but it's the majority that elect a representative. Even if the vote is split three or more ways, it's the one with the most votes that win. Isn't that also a Constitutional fact?

The whole crux of the issue is the fact that the federal government is overstepping it's bounds as laid out by the constitution. The federal government is usurping the power and responsibilities of the states. If a specific state wants cradle to grave socialism, that is their right if their people vote in officials that implement that. It is not the right of the federal government to do that. The founders intended it that way so that people could vote with their feet if they don't like the way their state is operating. The United States are just that, a group of independent states. The power hungry federal politicians are overstepping their bounds. Give them an unlimited (until our country is bankrupt) checkbook and they will keep making unconstitutional promises to get reelected. The solution: A balanced budget amendment, starve the federal politicians by repealling the income tax at the federal level and force them to adhear to the constitution. This will let and force the states to govern and be responsible for their own people.

I suspect that someone who perceives the grass roots movement among the citizenry of America, demanding accountability for irresponsible government spending and higher and higher national debt is too clueless to see what these so-called mysteries are all about. As the national debt goes up, up, up, the value of the dollar continues to do down, down, down, and countries around the world no longer trust the wisdom of our so-called leaders. I guess the government should do everything for everyone, from cradle to grave, and take up the slack for people who fail in business too? Is that what Mr. Weise believes? The rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are just that. They are not guarantees of equal outcomes.
