In plain english, I said that congress is passing laws that are in direct conflict of the constitution especially in respect to the 10th ammendment, and correct me if I'm wrong Larry, you basically said that the people elected their representatives so they should be allowed to pass any laws they want regardless of what the constitution stands for and I believe BAC you agreed with him. My free speech example was to show that the constitution is needed. It is just that you and Larry want to pick and choose which parts of it you want to be followed. The constitution is in place to protect an individuals liberty and freedom. Representatives cannot vote those away even though they try and in some cases have succeeded until overturned by the SC.

"If a group of elected politicians passed a law limiting free speech and freedom of the press"? Of COURSE I'm not all right with that. Maybe I should of gone further back in the posts. I thought you were talking about any laws that the elected pols pass. Although there are some things about freedom of speech that I wouldn't mind seeing limited. Like porn and some of the things said during elections. And while I'm thinking about it, how come you can't say "Merry Christmas" or have a Nativity scene on public ground, but the internet is absolutely LOADED with the most obscene stuff imaginable?

BAC, what planet do you live on? Have an idea of what laws they are going to pass? Sorry, but most politicians say anything to get elected. Look at the NY-23 democrat. He broke 4 campaign promises in the fissrt hour by votin for the healthcare bill. This is not limited to democrats. You expect democrats to expand government even if they say they won't, but republicans are worse because they get elected on smaller goverment and cutting government and it just keeps growing when they are in power. Who are people for responsible goverment supposed to turn to. The constitution is in place to protect peoples right and freedoms. I will pose the same question to you that Larry did not answer. If a group of elected politicians decided to pass a law to supress free speach and freedom of the press, are you ok with that? Remember, according to you and Larry, the constitution does not matter because the majority voted in the people that passed the law.

Come again, Buck? "the Constitution should be ignored and the reps should have free rain to pass whatever laws they like because they were elected by the majority."??? I've looked and looked at that statement, and I just can't understand what you're saying. If the majority were informed about who they were voting for, wouldn't they have some clue as to what laws the elected would be passing?

Larry, I don't stick up for Bush or any of the out of control spending federal politicians that are bankrupting our country. The republicans do the same as the dems which is waste our money to get re-elected. Do you think a balanced budget ammendment will only reign in democrats? Please just tell me if you really think the constitution should be ignored and the reps should have free reign to pass whatever laws they feel like because they were elected by the majority.

Didn't Barbra Boxter just shove a Cap and Trade bill through committee with NO GOP members present for the vote? did the house reject 11 bills that contained language that would give Obama and the Congress the same health plan they would force onto the masses? Didn't someone dismiss a poll because it leaned right and yet continues to quote huffpo? How do you spell HYPOCRITE????

While everyone is talking about breaking House rules, I have to ask, did Pelosi break any rules when she had the lights and power shut off in the House, and ordered all of the media out a while back when the Republicans wanted to speak?Just wondering. Not really sure what the House rules say about that. Can anyone shed some light on that?
