Alexandria has always been a supportive and successful area for scouting. A troop in or about 1970 gained national notoriety for the large number of Eagle Awards earned at once. I think it was a record and it may still be standing. Many of the leaders in the community have had experience in scouting, either as participants, leaders, or both. I would be interested to see the EP do a 'look back' at some of these stories, maybe a story that highlights some of the local eagle scouts and what they're doing now. A lot of us have some great memories of scouting.
