As a member of the Brandon School Board, I would like to thank everyone who voted to support our school financially. We have a school that the community can be proud of. We provide a quality education on a very tight budget. The last couple years has only seen the budget get tighter. Without this levy, I feel that the children's education would have been negatively impacted. Also, a big thank you to the school staff and other volunteers who made phone calls, sent out post cards, etc. to help this refendum pass. Yesterday was a great day in Brandon! A postive vote and a Chargers Volleyball tournament victory. GO CHARGERS Randy Bettermann

Hats off to Brandon for passing both questions - it takes work to keep small rural schools going.

Oops, I guess I could have reported the figures too on that last comment. A total of 497 voters said "yes" and a total of 571 voters said "no" to the WCA Levy Referendum. 46.5% voted for the tax increase.

West Central Area's vote was tabulated at 9:39pm on Tuesday night. Immediately the superintendent was on the phone getting the results out to media outlets. The Hoffman Tribune reported the result by 10pm on the editor's website.
