T.P.??? We've got TP!!! I bought stock in "Xxxxxxx" because of the quantities used by the three ladies in my life. And now that two are gone the third hasn't realized that the TP bench stock can (and should be) reduced appropriately. Heck, if Wal-Mart runs low they call us for a "stock check". And, for LL L, one neighbor did get "wired" as a result of a 6.5 hour outage 10 days ago.

lol, I let my TP supply slip a little, I have maybe about 50 rolls now. I didn't buy cases of peaches either, so I don't have those papers to fall back. Oh, well. Could always drag like a dog does. lol

Well......I guess we'll have plenty of food and 3 grills to use, plus some heat. Could melt snow for some water too I suppose. As for TP, supplies are variable around here, yet we usually have a supply of napkins, kleenix, and paper towels. Plus disposable plates and dinnerware. Deep freeze goods should last quite awhile during the winter in the garage, if we keep it mostly closed. Good thing to ponder though. Hummm, better have one of those old-fashioned phones around too, as the newer portable ones all take power to operate. No internet tho...................................................................................................................................

That would take a lot of snow! About 10 to 12 inches of snow equals about 1 inch of water. Gotta have that TP, sears doesn't send out catalogs anymore :)

Of course, in a winter condition, you could alway melt snow and boil it?

LL L, if they have any basic electrical knowledge, it wouldn't be at all hard to take the inside cover off the pump box, and wire in a cord on the load side to plug into the generator. Just turn off the switch on the box, first. No cord? Just swipe the one off the dryer or range. They're rated for two different amperages, but in an emergency, it would work.

Okay, sounds as if 4 of us will have warm houses, food and water.

Man, I hate to even think about those blizzard years! 96/97 was as bad, if not worse than '65. Barely remember that one, but it seemed like people took that one more in stride than 96/97. I get the feeling that the most of you who are prepared for things are rural? Myself, I suppose I could get by for two or three weeks with what I've got on hand, got a wood stove with a cooktop, but w/o power, things would be pretty stressful in the dead of winter. BTW, no one has mentioned the most important thing to have plenty of...T.P.!!
