I remember touring the KRP as a kid and being told the story of the KR and shown the "mooring stones" as proof for Vikings to have visited the area in the 14th century. To spend a half a million dollars upgrading an poorly located public park whose existence is based on an obvious hoax is disappointing as a former resident of Douglas Co. The perpetuation of this hoax does little more than advertise the collective ignorance of the local government and residents of west-central MN.
