Oh well, the link didn't work again, but y'all know how to google it. He tells a chilling story about the event in a song. I'm sure most of you remember it.

This isn't about Bob Dylan, but another great storyteller and songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot, and the story he told about the men lost in that tragic incident. Let's all take 29 seconds to remember the 29 men who perished 34 years ago on the "Edmund Fitzgerald..." May God rest their souls. http://popup.lala.com/popup/360569466644640584

Patty- Maybe that's what makes the soundtrack for "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" so good... Not a whole lot of singing! ;) Mostly instrumental. It is a must listen for any campfire gathering though.

Anyone who questions Bob Dylan's artistic abilities needs to listen to the soundtrack he wrote for the movie "Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid." It is a true masterpiece.Good listening for sitting around the campfire, or just picking along with a guitar.

Joe Cocker and Leon Redbone also come to mind. Redbone might be able to turn out a decent Christmas album...if he hasn't already?

Dylan and Kristofferson both have unique voices. You can pretty much identify who is singing after a couple of notes. That's what separates them from the pack of so many other male singers. Obviously since Dylan's been in the music business for something like 50 years -- he is still selling his CDs and there is a next generation of Dylan devotees. And who can forget Dylan's lyrics -- "some will rob you with a six-gun, some with a fountain pen."

Sorry L L......I misread what you said. Thanks for your kind correction. Kris is talented but neither his acting nor singing move me much. Except out of his sight and sound. lol
