Oh, again with the semantics, Mike. solutions are part of a plan, for crying out loud. And if I wanted to play the semantics game with you, I'd still ask: Where were the Reps the first six years of the Bush administration? All of a sudden, since the Dems brought it up (to win votes) the Reps have SOLUTIONS? to quote your friend, I think not!

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/11/024854.php?format=print Has anyone seen the list of NEW federal boards, bureaucracies, commissions, and programs that would be established by the House bill--all in the name of cutting costs. They add up to 111. No wonders it's a whopping 1900+ pages. HOW MUCH money will it take to fund the payroll for that many NEW government entities? We know the various entity staff members won't be working for "free" or at an affordable wage.

Larry, I wasn't aware of any GOP plan. The Pelosi/Reid plan is just now being presented after "tweaking" it to gain support from reluctant congressmen. Any GOP input has just been proposals that would be required for their support. Not hardly a PLAN.

"Larry, I don't believe the Bush administration was in the health care business. It's the DEM plank. Used for buying votes" Oh, and now that the Republicans have a health care plan . . . ?

DK P, I agree whole heartedly. I think the tea party revolution might get us headed in that direction. The MSM, dems and republicans can spin it anyway they want and try to discredit it, but the ta party revolution is about too much federal government power and spending. The only way to remove the power and spending is too remove the money. A balanced budget amendment would be a nice start. It's hard to make promises and give paybacks without your credit card.

Larry has a good point though. I am not a republican appoligist. I like their platform a lot more than the dems, but their politicians cow tow to the special interests just like the dems, and that is my guess as to why nothing was done then. The war also sidelined a lot of the domestic agenda. The people were promised a lot of reduction in government by the republicans, but when they had all branches of the federal government, they did not cut anything and instead expanded it. I am glad Obama and the Dems have everything now. It will finally open people eyes to how socialized we have become and the mainstream fiscal conservatives will finally stand up and elect some real fiscal conservatives. This is why the tea parties are happening. People are fed up with the special interest politics. We need a balanced budget amendment. Washington is like a lazy dishonest person with a credit card. That never turns out well.

Your link kept bringing me back to the Echo, Buck, so I Googled it. Now my question is: If the GOP had such a great health plan, why wasn't it implemented the first six years of Bush's term?

I would rather see the states manage their own health care issues, but being you asked Kerry, here is a link: http://www.gop.gov/solutions/healthcare. They are "announcing it now", but it has been around since the beginning of the debate at least in parts and ideas, but the MSM and the dems controlling the process won;t gice it any attention because it is not a one payer idea and does not feed their special interests, primarily the unions. Don't be fooled, this is just another politicial payback bill just like the "stimulus" was. Why di you think this does not kick in until 2013, after the next presidential election? Coincidence, I think not.
