The death panel was enacted with the stimulus pork bill. What they are now trying to push through is obmacare 2. http://thetruthwins.com/archives/the-horrible-truth-a-big-part-of-obamacare-has-already-become-law

Buck, that would mean that every single piece of legislation would have to stand on it's own merits and somethings just don't survive in full sunlight. They need to be tucked in under a larger canopy that shelters them from being burned off at the ground level I've grown very leary of the phrase "for other purposes". It most likely means SOMEONE'S pet project/proposal, or IDEAL is going to get a ride along on the coattails of a bigger bill and likely escapes any critical scrutiny or serious debate. Isn't that where sweetheart deals buy supporting votes? Reading a bill is like listening to a wordy speaker/person...about 2 minutes in, your eyes glaze over and confusion is bound to set in...regardless of one's age. I find my mind wandering aimlessly, while still trying to maintain attentiveness. I don't have ADHD, but when I've gotten into reading bills, I really begin to wonder if there is ANYONE out there that can stick with it all the way thru. I have to admire anyone with the ability to stick with the task at hand and decipher all the circles that makeup almost all legislation that comes down the pipe from Congress.

AWW, then I am SOL...I was officially "weaned" MANY years ago and have no new interest in getting into it again.

Kay, I doubt if the seperated status will get you anything. You will need to be sucking off some government program to get preferential treatment.

RB, I often thought that it wuld be nice if they would take all these ammendments and break them out into their own bills. It is just like the sales tax increase. A portion went to dnr stuff, a portion to environment and a portion to the arts. They should have had 3 ballot initiatives. I guess then the libs would not have gotten their arts funding though.

Buck, I'd have to buy one first....I wonder if I can find one at the Clothes Closet? It's a no go at the Browerville Thread Shed...they haven't seen any yet. ;) Would it increase my chances if I tell them I am a "separated" mom of 6? I suppose hubby could move to the fishhouse for the winter. Do they give out "lake" addresses for ice houses? LOL! I am sure he will miss the domestic services though.

It has always amazed me how different government works than private enterprise. If I came to my boss with a 1900+ page proposal about the work I was going to implement in what, 3 years time, he'd either laugh in my face or hand me my walking papers immediately. Nothing can be done efficiently (or cheaply for that matter) when you are cramming it all into one package. They need to break it down. Start with the quick wins ... what can be done quickly and with the biggest impact. No wonder the government gets no where with these issues ... good Lord!
