I am a firm believer. I do not believe Olaf could have nor had any desire to create this stone as a hoax. I would be very interested in reading this young mans paper once his research is finished. He should talk to my mom. She has some real opinions on it as well.

I have read "Westward from Vinland" by Hjalmar Holland, and I don't recall that the hooked-X runic character was mentioned (nor any connection to the Knights Templar). Can any scholars correct me on that, please?

As a former Alexandria resident, the Runestone has held great interest to me. The recent program on the Discovery Channel added a lot of credence to the stone. Through finding similar runes on other stones both in North America and Europe the program embraced the authenticity of the stone. Big Ole should be smiling from ear to ear.
