Unfortunately, most likely never, Steve. The way the law stands, if a 3rd party reports domestic violence, it's almost always the male party who goes to jail. Never mind if he's the one bleeding, bruised, or whatever. One of my old neighbors, Mitch, a tall lanky guy with not a lot of smarts, was continuously abused by his wife, a short 300 pounder. She whacked him on the side of the head, hard enough to break his left eardrum, and he was the one jailed and prosecuted.

Domestic violence is something that goes both ways. Many people don't know about the violence against men by women, because it is unreported. Men are seen as 'insecure' or worse if they are victims of this. Therefore, it is unreported. And, when it is reported, it is usually dismissed as 'bunk'. That is wrong. There are mean, violent women out there. When will people see that?

Speaking of domestic abuse, this afternoon, (10/17/09), I had my scanner on, and in less than an hour, there was one call for a 'mother's boyfriend' punching the daughter in the eye, and another call for a 'girlfriend trying to run over the boyfriend with her car'. In less than an hour on a Saturday afternoon! According to the scanner, the daughter/mother's fiance thing is ongoing? Sad.
