Mike, you've just hit the nail on the head. Immigrants are abandoning their homelands to come to a better place than what they had, just like our ancestors did! As far as assimilating the culture, have you ever been to Sunburg? I used to go through there twenty years ago, and they were still speaking Norwegian in most of the businesses.

Yeah, right, LL L. Send those emails to the White House and in the middle of the night you'll hear a knock on the door! I thought Obama made it pretty clear. If you receive an email you suspect, send it to his administration, and if it's incorrect, they'll state the facts. Of course, some people won't believe any facts unless they're favorite commentator OKs them;.

b a c, If you are saying that Kerry says I should leave, you may be mistaken. It poses and interesting thought. People suggesting I abandon my homeland, due to excercizing a right that doesn't exist all over the word, while promoting the idea that we become more tolerant of other people from less tolerant societies. Societies that can't or won't tolerate other cultures.

LL L, Orwell's '1984' is a little different than what's been going on lately. Big Brother has been watching us for about 8 years, ever since 9/11. Trying to debunk myths has nothing to do with that. I've gotten some totally outrageous emails, and although I haven't bothered to forward any, I can see what's going on.

Larry, I've done the same. Unfortunately my sister is good for that, and I don't see how I can block her. And, Mike, the Nazi's took over Germany. Most of the population was never in the Nazi party. Were France, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Austria, et al, Nazi? They were controlled by the Nazi party for a few years, also. I get that Kerry meant that maybe you should go back to the land of your ancestors, which brings us back to the topic of this thread.

Don't you think, larry l, that there is a big difference between blocking people from sending unwanted email and in effect turning them in by sending the information to the White House. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to find out what is being mailed. They can go the the urban legend sites. There is something peculiar about sending the emails to anybody in authority. Too "big brother is watching" for me!

Kerry's right about that. I've blocked two "friends" who still insist on spreading crap that has been proven a "urban legend."

like saying I should go to Germany is not a nazi referance. As if she hasn't expressed her sentiments toward Jews.

Like if our guests go to employers and demand that he change the work procedures or face prosecution. What they do at home is their affair. What they feel is a right to force our society to adjust is all of our business. At what point is it obvious that they have no intention to assimulate. All the privileges of our country, with none of the duties. I wonder how long I would have kept my job, if I insisted that I wanted Sundays off for my religious practice. or if I told them to get someone else to do things I found offensive. This may be hard to believe, but, there are people who have to clean the toilets in the schools and they are glad to have the work. There are also people who won't clean a toilet and they expect us to provide for them. There are also people who defend those slugs for refusing "demeaning" work.

Using the term brown shirts to describe the administration asking for people to share emails they get that contain lies about the proposed health care legislation so that they can clear them up and base the debate on fact and not the fiction being spread by some on the right is nothing less than dishonest. Using the term brown shirts is akin to calling Obama a Nazi and is a fear tactic used by the right because they cannot win a debate based on facts. They have to use fear and make stuff up. And gullible people believe them. And gullible followers spread the lies on comment sections. These who spread the lies are either dishonest people or ignorant of the facts. Funny thing, even when they are shown to be lies, they continue to post them.
