It's always the right time for literacy, however I think there are bigger issues than the amount of space at the library.

Some people will always claim that "now is not the right time."

Sarja's right, we definitely need a new school before we need a new library. The library is a fairly new and modern building, we can't say the same about Jefferson High School.

I agree with Jerry J, this isn't the right time. I didn't read in his post that it shouldn't happen ever, just not until the economy levels out.

I would have rather had a new library than a new jail. I'm sure that they won't even consider using the annex as the new library. When the jail debate was going on, didn't the head librarian say they didn't need a new library when they were considering expanding the jail in the central school building? I can't remember if I posted a comment here or just thought at the time "what kind of librarian doesn't want a new library?" Was she being pressured to say that so the jail agenda could move forward? Hmmmmmm.

This city is growing in leaps and bounds. My question is why isn't there a full time fire department staffed? Perhaps we need to build another school and tax all the citizens to the point of just handing over their hard earned checks!

Jerry J I hope your not suggesting that everything comes to a dead stop. The county board needs to look at the counties future needs and be prepared for action once the economic enviorment improves.
