This problem has been looming on the horizon for several years. Here in Maryland we get the local news on the various Episcopal congregations primarily in Virginia leaving the U.S. church and affiliating with the Anglican Communion primarily because of the controversy caused by the gay bishop elevated to that post several years ago. Personally, in spite of being baptized and confirmed in the ELCA (and its previous merged synods) we have joined a LCMS congregation. Two major differences between the two bodies: Unfortunately there are no female clergy but we still use the Green Hymnal.
