I understand the referendum. The fact is, supporting the arts is great, but to be a working fine artist, the support can't stop with the government. People need to place the same value on God given talent, imagination, and creative skill as they do on commercially manufactured toys, sporting goods, and clothing. Until then, natural artists will remain working jobs that pay the bills and create in their spare time. It is very difficult to make a living in art. The first paintings I sold from my gallery went to a lady in London, England. Pretty sad that my first sale didn't go to a local.
