The Ashby girls’ basketball team returns 11 letter winners from a young team that went 8-15 a year ago.
Seniors Meg Roley and Emily Elliott will lead another young unit this season. Juniors Amber Sundal, Paige Nelson, Bailey Funkhouser and Sarah Anderson and sophomores Cassandra Jordan, Madison VanSatten, Abbie Ras, Becca Hansen and Beth Odens are also back after earning letters last winter.
“We return a lot of experience and look to improve on last year’s season,” head coach Trevor Schneeberger said. “We have a team that works and competes hard and will continue to get better with each practice and game.”
The Arrows dropped their first game of the season in a 37-35 game against Wheaton-Herman-Norcross on Tuesday night. Ashby is hoping to make strides on a 4-8 record in the Little Eight Conference from last season.
