The organization recommends that the public attend the opening dance on November 18 when the area’s five-person band, Velvet Brass, will play. Prior to the dance, there will be a dance lesson beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The Jerry O’Hagan Orchestra, an 11-piece metro area group, will play on Sunday, December 9. Tim Patrick and His Blue Eyes Band will return for the Sweetheart Dance on February 17.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day dancing to Velvet Brass on March 17. Julie Lee and The White Rose Band will entertain on April 7. A long-time favorite of dancers, The Sammy Jensen Orchestra, will conclude the season on April 21.
The public is welcome to attend all dances. Lessons will be offered at 2:30 p.m. before the dances. The dress code is simple, no jeans or shorts.
The goal of The Winter Dance Club is to bring live bands and year-round ballroom dancing to the area. Dances are sponsored by the Lakeside Dance Club. The club has hosted ballroom dancing during the summer months for three decades.
