Notice is hereby given that sealed Bids will be received by Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management until 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012, at the office of the Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management at 2115 Jefferson Street, Alexandria, MN 56308 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for the furnishing of all labor and material for the Landfill Leachate Storage Tank Replacement project.
Major components of the Work include abandoning the existing leachate storage tank, installation of a new leachate storage tank including new rails and accessories, leachate level sensors, and electrical and piping connections and site restoration.
Bids shall be on the form provided for that purpose and according to the Bidding Documents prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc., dated October 23, 2012.
The Bidding Documents may be seen at the issuing office of Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. located at 3535 Vadnais Center Drive, Saint Paul, MN 55110-5196. Copies of the plans and project manual may also be examined at the Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management office in Alexandria, Minnesota.

A pre-Bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19 at the Pope/Douglas Ash Landfill located 20 miles west of Alexandria on Minnesota Highway 27 and 1/3 mile north on Sandy Hill Road SW. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are required to attend and participate in the conference.
Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Bids shall be directed to the Executive Director of Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR LEACHATE STORAGE TANK REPLACEMENT.”
Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the Owner.
