Baby/toddler syndrome courses to be offered

The shaken baby/toddler syndrome and update on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) courses will be held on Thursday, November 8 in Room 102 at Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC).

The shaken baby/toddler syndrome and update on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) courses will be held on Thursday, November 8 in Room 102 at Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC). The shaken baby/toddler syndrome will run from 6 to 7 p.m., and the update on SIDS will run from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

The shaken baby/toddler syndrome course will provide information on the medical, psychological, emotional and physical effects of shaken baby/toddler syndrome, as well as provide strategies for prevention.

The update on SIDS course will provide information on risk factors related to SIDS and what precautions can be taken when caring for young infants.

Both courses meet the Minnesota requirements of mandated training for child care and foster care providers. Each course fee is $10, and clock hour certificates are available.
