Alexandria junior Sarah Bruzek was selected to the 2012 State Class A girls’ soccer All-tournament team.
Bruzek, who helped the Cardinals claim a spot at the state tournament this year with her stellar play in goal, made 13 saves against last year’s state champion, Blake, in the opening round of action. The Cards lost to the Bears, who went on to compete in the title game, in a close 2-0 game.
That loss broke a six-game winning streak by Alexandria, dating back to October 8.
The Cardinals finished the season with a 14-6-1 overall record and an 8-3-1 Central Lakes Conference mark, good for second place in the league.
