Senior Maria Hauger of Shakopee broke both the all-time course record and the Class AA record while winning her fourth consecutive individual title in comfortable fashion during the State Class AA cross country meet.
Hauger’s time of 13:42.0 betters the 4000 meter course record of 13:54.7, which was set by Bria Wetsch of Holy Family Catholic, Victoria, in the 2005 Class A race.
The Class AA record, also from 2005, was held by Lakeville North’s Elizabeth Yetzer, 13:59.3. Sophomore Anna French of Wayzata finished in the runner-up position, up from 10th in 2011. French nearly bettered the Class AA state record as well, with her time of 13:57.6.
Ninth grader Bethany Hasz of Alexandria moved into the third place position with about 4000 meters remaining, and finished third in 14:05.5. Eagan senior Danielle Anderson finished fourth in 14:06.5, Bemidji sophomore Jenna Truedson finished fifth in 14:09.3 and freshman Megan Hasz of Alexandria was sixth in 14:14.5.
